Police officers, private security personnel, employers, school officials, healthcare institutions, government representatives, and others may hold legitimate authority. That authority must still be exercised lawfully, honestly, proportionately, and responsibly.

Too often, one person is left alone during a difficult encounter while the official or institution involved controls the narrative afterward. QUEXXEN is being developed to help trusted people become aware while events are unfolding — not only after someone has been injured, arrested, intimidated, discredited, or silenced.

No official, institution, or authority figure should possess exclusive control over the story of an encounter.

A dedicated mode for encounters that matter.

Encounter Mode is being designed for situations involving police, private security, workplace authority, school officials, healthcare institutions, domestic threats, housing conflicts, institutional intimidation, and other situations in which witnesses and preserved information may matter.

Allow a user to begin a signal without unnecessary interaction.

Selected notification

Notify only the personal contacts and Refuge Organizations chosen for that specific encounter.

Active location

Allow the user to share location during an active encounter under user control.

Remote witnesses

Allow trusted people or qualified responders to acknowledge the signal and remain aware.

Secure preservation

Support remote preservation of permitted audio, video, timestamps, location information, and other relevant event information.

Disconnect awareness

Inform selected responders if the device unexpectedly stops transmitting, loses connection, or goes offline.

Incident timeline

Help organize user-selected notes, media, locations, and events after the encounter.

Recording laws, public-official duties, mandatory-reporting rules, and legal requirements vary by jurisdiction. QUEXXEN will not determine whether an order is lawful and will not instruct users to resist, interfere with, obstruct, or physically confront public officials.
